TheVentureCity Team

This startup is giving back to the local community and creating digital jobs and now joins TheVentureCity’s Growth Accelerator

Brazil’s tech scene is booming. Despite rising capital from investors and an increased demand for tech jobs, there aren’t enough qualified profiles to fill the gap. Digital Innovation One is disrupting the traditional hiring and training techniques so that new talent can take advantage of this unique moment.

“Technology in Brazil is highly transferable across industries. While a company in a given sector might be exploiting innovation and ripping the results, there are similar companies in different sectors that have not yet made the leap. It is precisely this gap in the market where startups are emerging as a natural alternative.”

The startup, that originated in Brazil, has recently joined our Growth Accelerator. It presents itself as the largest open education ecosystem for software developers. Digital Innovation One offers a comprehensive business proposal: Free formation on software development online; educational resources for companies to train employees; and recruiting and hiring services to improve companies’ IT and software teams.“We are seeing that technology in Brazil is highly transferable across industries. While a company in a given sector might be exploiting innovation and ripping the results, there are similar companies in different sectors that have not yet made the leap. It is precisely this gap in the market where startups are emerging as a natural alternative, and where they can compete against the more established titans,” said Iglá Lear Generoso, CEO and co-founder of Digital Innovation One.Iglá is a natural entrepreneur who is passionate about tech from a very young age. Before founding Digital Innovation One, Iglá had already founded several startups, including the first scooters in Brazil and a coworking space that is still operating today. After closing his first startup in 2005, he began working for the tech giant HP in Brazil, which gave him an opportunity to travel and experience first-hand the challenges of technology in the world’s most competitive economies.

The Digital Innovation One team at TheVentureCity's Miami Campus.“Iglá is a serial entrepreneur that brought together a passionate team to work on open education. The world needs more developers, and Digital Innovation One is not only helping young professionals to improve their development skills but also connecting them with companies that are looking to increase their development team,” said Ricardo Sangion, our VP of Growth Accelerator for the Americas.According to Digital Innovation One, by now a regular in our Miami campus, their innovative method achieves a 60% reduction in hiring costs, in addition to significantly lessening hiring times. For us at TheVentureCity, this startup is more than a network of developers and ecosystem builders: It is technology that gives talented minds direct access to coveted jobs, no matter where they come from.
